The measure of the social network is an attempt to fight against the ‘Fake News’.
Facebook began to rate its users according to its reliability to try to fight against the wrong information, the Washington Post reported. The tool developed by the company scores the credibility and accuracy of the users on a scale of 0 to 10, in order to find those who publish false news on purpose. According to the newspaper, Tessa Lyons, product manager of Facebook, was assigned to identify the malicious actors. Although the social network gave users the power to rate the news and the media for its veracity, Lyons assures that this freedom caused many to take advantage of it. “It’s not uncommon for people to tell us that something is false simply because they do not agree with the story or because they intentionally try to target a particular publisher,” Lyons said in an interview with the newspaper.
